WHO WE ARE
Adrienne Anderson, Childbirth Educator & Personal Training
After the amazing, all natural delivery of her first son, Adrienne knew she wanted to help others have wonderful birth experiences too. Six months later, she started teaching her friends and family what she herself had learned and soon became passionate about healthy pregnancy, natural birth, and breastfeeding. She completed her childbirth education certificate with Birth Arts International in August of 2013. In 2016, she completed her education as a Pre & Postnatal Exercise Specialist with FitforBirth and her personal training certificate in 2017 with NETA. She is also a leader of La Leche League of the Quad Cities.
Adrienne is happily married to her high school sweetheart and is blessed to be able to stay home to raise their three sons.
Sarah Cupp, Birth Doula
The failed induction/c-section birth of her first child led Sarah to further research natural birth. Her reading led to a successful VBAC (with a doula) of her second child five years later. The experience inspired her to pursue her interest in becoming a doula. She wants to help mothers research their choices in planning and preparing for birth and support them during the birthing process. Sarah is currently working towards her certification with DONA International.
She and her husband have three amazing children, two of whom are successful VBACs,
…and they have a mediocre cat. She also knits. A lot.
Charissa Peterson, Birth Doula
Before she even knew what a doula was, Charissa was asked to be the doula at the birth of her best friend’s first baby. After that she went on to work as a house parent at a maternity home for young girls and had the privilege (and challenge) of living with them during their pregnancies, and even got to attend one of the births. A couple years later she experienced firsthand the benefits of having a doula during her own first pregnancy and labor. These life events, combined with the encouragement from family and friends were what sparked her interest in all things birth, and inspired her to become a doula. She loves serving and encouraging others in her role as a certified doula through DONA international.
Charissa is happily married to Ryan, and a busy homeschooling mama to two sweet girls and one wild boy.
Sarah Moore, Midwife, Birth Doula, Placenta Encapsulator
The wonderful, unmedicated births of her daughters paired with the unhappy birth stories of others motivated her to become a doula. The compassionate care she received throughout her pregnancy, birth and post partum period with her youngest daughter inspired her to journey into midwifery. She is also a Placenta Encapsulation Specialist. She serves as a board member of the Illinois Council of Certified Professional Midwives.
Sarah and her wonderfully supportive husband have three beautiful daughters. Along with birth work, she enjoys homeschooling her girls.
Rebecca Criswell, Birth Doula
Rebecca was born and raised on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico! She was initially introduced to the beautiful world of labor and delivery while in nursing school five years ago but fell in love with birth work while serving as a midwife's assistant. She currently attends Bethel University where she will complete her masters degree in midwifery. She happily serves women of the Quad Cities as a doula.
She spends most her free time reading, powerlifting, studying, and spending quality time with amazing friends. She is married to a wonderful and wickedly smart man named Jared and they are overjoyed and thankful to God to be expecting their first child in February 2019!
